Sashing
Stars Monday November 1 9:00 – 4:00 $40.00 A set of nice quilt blocks can become a terrific quilt with a dazzling setting and sashing
that incorporates stars is a good way to achieve this. Marti Michell has designed another terrific tool set that
enables you to create three different star styles accurately using 2", 3", or 4" sashing cut to the
exact length you need. And the block style is flexible -- pieced, appliquéd, machine embroidered, or simply preprinted
fabric panels. Bring a set of 6 to 18 blocks in any size, an assortment of coordinating fabrics, and I'll help
you design and start sewing a layout perfect for your project! (Template set is $18.) Instructor: Mary Huey

Border Quilts Thursday November 4 9:30 – 3:30 $35.00 Many of us often buy beautiful border fabric thinking we will use it as a border on one of
our quilts - then it sits in our stash for awhile! This quilt is similar to stack-n-whack using border fabrics but is
very easy to make and requires no special tools or rulers. I normally use a border fabric with five or six repeats for
width of fabric. This quilt goes together in an afternoon and is not only different but beautiful! Highly recommended
for a quilter who wants to make a quilt that is easy and fast!! You will only be limited by your imagination. Instructor: Pat Rothen

Mexican Star Mondays Nov. 29, Dec. 6 & 13 5:30 – 8:00 $35.00 In this class we will be using the Mexican Stars pattern from Southwind Designs.
This wall hanging uses “straight seam piecing with curved results” method. This curved
method is a little like the cathedral window method. The curved lines are created by turning back the folded
triangle inserts and stitching close to the folded edge. You can do the stitching by hand or on the sewing
machine. This pattern makes a very stunning wall hanging depending on your choice of fabrics.
