Quilt as You Go Tuesday February 15 9:00 – 3:00 $25.00 Does quilting “on-the-go” appeal to you? The
quilt-as-you go approach enables today’s busy quilt maker to quilt a piece in smaller segments and then put those together
to complete a quilt. When done properly these methods will not show from the front and can add interesting
design detail to the quilt back. Quilting smaller units by hand or machine keeps the work in manageable sizes and
facilitates the quilting process. The time and effort required to assemble the pre-quilted units is certainly far less than
the time needed for Instructor: Carol Blevins

with young girls who traded and collected as many different prints as possible to create these quilts that are an exciting
record of the prints available in that period. A starter kit of 25 blue and brown prints is included
in the class fee. All you need to bring are rotary cutting supplies, hand sewing needles, a thimble if you have one, and

Machine Quilting in Sections Thursday February 24 1:00 – 4:00 $25.00 Quilting a large quilt in several smaller units and joining the
sections together makes the task of machine quilting at home a more manageable task. Some of the techniques
work for hand quilters who wish to work in smaller units. This workshop will give your hands-on experience
with the finishing techniques in Marti Michell’s book as you make a technique sampler using 3 of the finishing
techniques from the book. This experience will help you decide which techniques work best for your style of quilting
and give you the confidence to try it for yourself. Bring a current large quilt project for a discussion
time at the end of the workshop about how to divide it into manageable sections and what finishing techniques to use.
This is not a machine quilting class. Instructor:Mary Huey
