Continuous Bias Binding Friday September 10 9:00 – 12:00 $20.00 There are many ways to finish the edge of a quilt. Bias binding is a very popular method and
can give just the right touch to the quilt. In this class you will learn how to start with a square of fabric and from it
make a strip of bias binding that will go around the quilt. I have a secret that will give you A++ binding every time. You
will also learn how to miter the corners of the binding (it’s really quite easy!), how to join it together with a bias
seam, and then how to finish the back edge by hand. Instructor: Carol Blevins

Mitered Borders Friday September 10 1:00 – 4:00 $20.00 Some quilts, garments, or home dec projects just call out for mitered corners. Mitered
borders meet at a 45 degree angle in the corners and give a formal and elegant look. Although these appear to be challenging
to do they are really quite easy. Striped fabrics, unique prints, or borders with multiple strips are a great way
to get a lot of design pizzazz. Instructor: Carol Blevins

Hoop Caps Thursday September
30 5:30
– 8:00 $12.00 Do you hand quilt in a hoop? If so this class is for you. When hand quilting
in a hoop the quilt is supported by the edges of the hoop except when you get out to the outer borders. Trying
to put the edges of the quilt in a hoop to quilt the outer border can be very frustrating. The edges can
shift and wriggle and give you a wavy edge to your quilt. This quilting aid can alleviate this problem.
It provides a sturdy place to attach the edge of your quilt so these things don’t occur. All
you need is your hoop, some prequilted fabric, bias tape, and sew in hook and loop tape such as Velcro. Never
have problems quilting the outer edge of your quilt again. Instructor: Dottie Moreland
