Drawing with the Needle

Monday July 19

9:30 - 3:30

$40.00

In a one day working class, students will learn to use free motion stitching as the tool to create sketches with threads and textures. This workshop encourages the student to explore the unique quality of line that is produced only with the sewing machine. They will learn to draw grass, leaves and trees. Students will learn the subtle differences between free motion stitching and free motion embroidery.

Using free motion stitching, students create elements like trees and shrubbery on Solvy, and then combine with more stitchery to create a rich fantasy landscape.
