This is a catch up for those who may have missed chapter 2, which covers the Sequin Stitches and Theme Stitches. We will also begin work on a project that uses some of these exclusive stitch techniques and some sewing techniques to create a decorative pillow.

| Skill Details: | You need to have an HV Designer Epic or Epic 2 machine and be familiar with the basic use of navigating through the menus of the machine. |
| Materials Included: | All students will receive a printout of the current chapter of the workbook that we will be focusing on that month. All students who register for a complete year will receive a binder to put their printouts in. :) |
| Requirements: | In addition to your machine and the embroidery unit, you will want to bring a basic kit of sewing supplies to each class. Items you may need are: scissors, snips, pins, quilt clips, marking tools, needles, screwdriver, sewing thread, embroidery thread, a 260 X 200 embroidery hoop, bobbins, a seam ripper in case a friend needs it, etc... For this project you will need cotton sewing thread, rayon/polyester embroidery thread, bobbins, assorted metallic/glitter/fun threads, tear away light stabilizer, 1/2 yard of your base pillow fabric, 1/4 yard each of three different contrasting fabrics, 1/8 yard of multicolor for the piping trim, cotton batting, pillow form or fiber fill, sequins, 1/2 yard of beaded trim (optional) & 1 1/2 yards of piping cord. In addition you will need a clear open toe foot, a piping foot, & a tube turner. It will be helpful if you have your fabrics for the project cut prior to class. You will need a 14" X 16" piece of your main fabric, two 3" X 18" from each of the three contrasting fabrics, & two 2" by the width of fabric for the piping. |
