Class Epic Club - Chapter 6 - Technique Class - Fayetteville
What can we do with our Epics & Epic 2s?! There's so much that our Husqvarna Viking Designer Epic & Epic 2 machines can do! If you own one of these machines, this club is for you. :) We meet monthly to work through the chapters of the Epic workbook, taking it one chapter at a time. We take an in-depth exploration and review the top features of our top of the line machines. Each month we build a deeper knowledge of all that these machines can do.
In addition to your machine and the embroidery unit, you will want to bring a basic kit of sewing supplies to each class. Items you may need are: scissors, snips, pins, quilt clips, marking tools, needles, screwdriver, sewing thread, embroidery thread, your embroidery hoops, filled bobbins, a seam ripper in case a friend needs it, etc...
For the February project you will need:
- 1/3 yard tone on tone for the background (two 10" squares & some for practice, including a 6" square)
- 1/2 yard of multicolor print for backing and binding (two 11" squares for backing & two 2 1/2" strips X WOF)
- 1/4 yard of tone one tone for piping (optional)(two 2" X WOF)
- 2 1/2 yards of piping cord (optional)
- tear away light stabilizer
- embroidery thread (use only cotton threads if you want to actually use the potholder as a potholder!)
- sewing thread
- cotton batting
- Insul Bright
- open-toe applique foot will be helpful, but you can use your B foot if you do not have one
We will make simple pot holders. If you'd prefer to create something else with your newly learned technique, your supply list may vary from this. Please, be sure to bring the supplies that you'll need.
Please, reach out to me if you have any questions!! I'm always happy to help. :) You can reach me via email at annaloves2create@gmail.com.
Skill Level: | Intermediate |
Skill Details: | You need to have an HV Designer Epic or Epic 2 machine and be familiar with the basic use of navigating through the menus of the machine. Skill levels vary in class. This means that some students may finish the project in class & some may take it home to finish. The majority of projects will need some follow up at home. If you are uncomfortable with finishing up the project on your own at home, let's talk about it and schedule some time to finish it up together. |
Materials Included: | You will be sent the chapter via email the weekend prior to class so that you can print it out to have available at class. If you do not have access to print it, please, let us know and we will be sure to have one available for you. It will be helpful to have a binder dedicated to this class to create a workbook of the techniques you learn |
Instructor: | Anna Griesacker |
Instructor Bio: | I'm "sew" excited to bring over 40 years of sewing experience to you! I made the majority of my oldest child's clothes, prom & bride's maids dresses, costumes, stuffed animals, home decor, quilts, and "sew" much more. |
