Class Viking Club - Chapter 17 - Fayetteville

During this month’s class we will learn how to add texture to our embroideries by combining ribbons with embroidery.   We will use this technique to create a fun tote.  These are perfect for carrying your essentials to all the upcoming fall fairs!

Requirements:  In addition to your machine and the embroidery unit, you will want to bring a basic kit of sewing supplies to each class.  Items you may need are: your machine manual, the embroidery design sample book for your machine, scissors (your applique scissors and pinking shears will be helpful for this project), snips, pins, quilt clips, marking tools, needles, screwdriver, the feet for your machine, straight stitch plate & zig zag plate for your machine, sewing thread, embroidery thread, your embroidery hoops, filled bobbins, a seam ripper in case a friend needs it, etc...

For this month’s project you will need):

•       tear away stabilizer

•       Embroidery Hoops

•       ½ yard tone on tone outside fabric

•       5/8 yard lining fabric

•       5/8 yard fabric for bag bottom/side/strap and embroidery

•       5/8” wide ribbon/twill tape

•       1 ¾” button

•       embroidery threads

•       cotton batting
