Class Batik Stained Glass Window Panel

In class you will make one 18" wide x 37" tall panel (sizes approximate). You can complete this project if you have some experience sewing and know your machine well. Confident beginners are welcome!

A minimum of 3 students are required for this class. If less than 3 students sign up, I will notify you via email at least one week before class. You can receive a refund or reschedule.

The panel pictured is an 18” wide panel. If you wish to make this panel 36” wide (as some of the sample panels are), purchase twice the amount of fabric and plan to finish the project outside of class.

Please come to class with each batik cut into a 4" x 20” strip.

Supply List

• Batik fabrics cut into 4”x20” strips. The panel we will make uses 12 strips.
• You can cut 6 strips from 1/3 yard of fabric. If you would like more variance of batik patterns in your panel, use more varied patterns of batiks. You can use a lesser number of batik patterns if you don’t mind some repeat. The sample shown in the photo uses 6 blue and 6 orange fabric strips for an 18”x36” panel. Quality batiks will be much easier to work with. You can be sure of quality fabric if purchased from Sew'N Place / Sew 'N Sweep.  
• Thread (a color which contrasts your batiks looks great!)
• Scissors
• Rotary cutter and ruler
• Pins  
• Sewing machine in good working order
