In May and June, we will work on “Front Porch Pail” by Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill Studio. This patriotic wall hanging features an embroidery design accented by EPP hexagon flowers. The embroidery shaded with crayons. Outlines can be sewn by hand or with a sewing machine using the triple stitch.

| Requirements: | Supply list: · Fat quarter of white stitchery fabric · Fat quarter of Pellon SPF 101 Shape-Flex · 1/8 yd red fabric · 1/8 yd red and white fabric · ¼ yd red ticking or stripe fabric · 1/8 yd stars fabric · 1 yd gold/yellow fabric for border · Scraps of fabric for hexagon flowers · 1/3 yd binding · 1 1/8 yd backing · Brown pigma pen · Crayons (pattern suggests 64 count Crayola crayons) · Thread to match fabric for EPP (I used a 50 weight thread) · Thread to match for applique and piecing · Embroidery floss if stitching center design by hand or machine embroidery thread if triple stitching center design (thread colors: yellow/gold, blue, brown/tan, green, dark red, red) · Pearl cotton-green and brown or black for French knots · Marking pen · Paper towels · Needle (I use John James Sharps 3/9 or Milliners needle) · Glue stick · Scissors · Pins · Rotary cutter · Quilt ruler · Sewing machine |
