Class Morning Tea and EPP “Queens Folly” Table Runner -Fayetteville

Come relax with friends, sip a beverage from the Caledonia Cafe, and work on an English paper pieced project. English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a hand piecing technique where pieces of fabric are adhered to a piece of paper before they are hand sewn together. EPP offers quilters the ability to showcase fabrics with the use of fussy cutting to sew complex designs. In August, we will begin working on the “Queens Folly” table runner. “Queens Folly” is an intricate EPP block that can be found in English quilts from the mid 1800s.

We will also continue working on our year-long EPP project “Blue Star Hexagon” by Karen Styles. Make two star blocks each weekend and you will have a quilt in a year. Students can make the quilt scrappy or choose a theme. I will be using reproduction patriotic colors to honor America’s 250th birthday.
