Class - Pieced Star Embroidery Quilt (Christmas Version) - Fayetteville

“Pieced Star Quilt” is an embroidery quilt where the quilt components are embroidered separately and sewn together to make the quilt. The blocks have beautiful and intricate stitching allowing “stitching in the ditch” to be a perfect way to finish the quilt. Come to this class and have a quilt done for the Christmas season!

Please have design loaded to USB stick

• Embroideries for center of pieced star blocks. We used 12 designs from “Christmas Cheer” by OESD https://oesd.com/christmas-cheer-embroidery/

• 1 yd red fabric (diagonal stripes of quilt)
• 1 yd white fabric (stars of quilt)
• 1 5/8 yd black fabric (embroidery designs stitched on this fabric)
•  3/8 yd for optional border
• ½ yd binding
• scraps of batting
• 1 ½ yd backing
• batting at least 45” x 56” (throw size works well)
• Machine embroidery thread
• Bobbin thread
• Thread for piecing blocks together
• Medium Weight CutAway stabilizer (15” width works well)
• 4 ¾ yd Pellon SF101 Shape Flex stabilizer
• 90/14 Embroidery Sewing Machine Needle
• Basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, marking or chalk pencil, etc.)

Class 1: background blocks

Class 2: diagonal stripes and squares

Class 3: finish embroideries and begin piecing the quilt

Class 4: finish piecing the quilt and add border if desired, discuss quilting

Minimum of 4 Students are required for this class.
